Challenge Message
A new agricultural technology that uses film instead of soil to produce high-quality crops with minimal water consumption and adapt to climate change.
Product, service, and business features
Hydrogel film developed for medical use is utilized in agriculture for the first time in the world. This ImecTM film allows only water and nutrients to pass through to the plants while eliminating bacteria and viruses, thus reducing the use of pesticides. Since water in hydrogel is difficult for plants to absorb, plants produce more sugar and amino acids as they try to absorb water in this hydrogel by increasing osmotic pressure. As a result, for example, sweet and tasty tomatoes can be produced.

Vegetables can grow even without soil. Mebior's film farming method, “IMEC®,” enables rich agriculture even in places with limited water and soil. We propose new options for growing food through cultivation models, actual baby leaves, and technical introduction videos. Please come to the venue to experience a step toward a future where the power of plants enriches people's lives.
