Challenge Message

We will establish new production technology for seaweed and update the seaweed food culture to disseminate it from Japan to the rest of the world.

Product, service, and business features

Through the world's first land-based cultivation using underground seawater and sea surface cultivation that nurtures a rich marine ecosystem, we are engaged in research and production of rare varieties of seaweed in various regions of Japan, and are involved in the entire process from product commercialization and dish development to sales to consumers, including restaurants and other businesses. We also build close partnerships with local fishermen, developers of cultivation equipment, and chefs, working together to enhance the value of seaweed and contribute to regional revitalization and the development of food culture through seaweed.

Exhibition Details

For the first time in the world, we are able to stably supply “suji aonori” (green laver), whose natural harvest has drastically decreased, using our unique land cultivation technology that utilizes underground seawater. Each individual algae body that grows from the seedlings forms a star-like shape while closely adhering to each other, spreading radially as it basks in the sunlight and turning a deep green color. Please take a look at our sustainable seaweed cultivation efforts that protect and nurture the richness of the ocean's future, along with the vibrant growth of these algae.
